Perils of love - II

**Chatroom: Unrequited Loves and Other Failures**

**QuixoticQuester**: Ahoy, BrokenCompass! Still navigating the labyrinth of love?

**BrokenCompass**: Ah, QuixoticQuester! Always searching for what's not there, are you?

**QuixoticQuester**: Ha! A worthy quest is never completed easily.

**BrokenCompass**: Well, at least your quest has a noble name. My compass is so broken, it thinks north is a social construct.

**QuixoticQuester**: Is love not the same? A quixotic journey with no true north?

**BrokenCompass**: I'd argue it's more like the Bermuda Triangle. Easy to enter, hard to get out, and you'll probably sink somewhere in between.

**QuixoticQuester**: A harrowing analogy. But, ah! To be lost at sea, waiting for that siren to pull you under.

**BrokenCompass**: You say siren, I say kraken. Tomato, to-mah-to.

**QuixoticQuester**: And you'd need a ship for either, no? How fares your vessel in these tumultuous waters?

**BrokenCompass**: My vessel's less 'Titanic' and more 'pool floatie with a slow leak'.

**QuixoticQuester**: Ah, the perilous journey of duct tape and prayers. A classic.

**BrokenCompass**: So what's your quest? Finding the Holy Grail of True Love?

**QuixoticQuester**: Oh, the Grail is but a chalice. I seek the wine that fills it.

**BrokenCompass**: Ah, vintage love. Corked or not, it ages either way.

**QuixoticQuester**: Would you prefer a love aged like a fine wine or fresh like spring water?

**BrokenCompass**: I don't know. Both sound like they have a potential expiration date.

**QuixoticQuester**: Ah, but expiration is the ultimate fate of all quests. Even the knight must hang up his armor.

**BrokenCompass**: Yeah, but I'd like to at least get to the dragon before my armor rusts.

**QuixoticQuester**: Dragons are highly overrated. Have you ever tried to kiss one?

**BrokenCompass**: No, but I've tried kissing frogs. So far, they've all turned into toads.

**QuixoticQuester**: Oh, the elusive frog prince. I'm still trying to find the castle, let alone the frog.

**BrokenCompass**: Maybe you're looking for love in all the wrong castles.

**QuixoticQuester**: And perhaps your compass needs recalibrating. Have you tried turning it off and on again?

**BrokenCompass**: Would if I could. The user manual was written in Elvish.

**QuixoticQuester**: My questing license is unfortunately only valid for Middle English and occasional gibberish.

**BrokenCompass**: Let's just agree; whether by quest or navigation, love is hard.

**QuixoticQuester**: Indubitably. A capricious mistress, she giveth and taketh, often in the same breath.

**BrokenCompass**: Speaking of capricious, ever tried love potions?

**QuixoticQuester**: Once. Ended up falling in love with a chandelier for a week.

**BrokenCompass**: Ah, love at first light. How did that go?

**QuixoticQuester**: Let's just say, it was illuminating but not enlightening.

**BrokenCompass**: I tried it once too. Fell in love with my GPS.

**QuixoticQuester**: Now that's a relationship with direction!

**BrokenCompass**: Until it led me down a one-way street to heartbreak.

**QuixoticQuester**: Ah, but such is the way of love. Perilous, quixotic, and with an unhealthy dose of irony.

**BrokenCompass**: Well put. So where does your quest lead you next?

**QuixoticQuester**: To the chatroom of "Hopeless Romantics and Cynics United," naturally.

**BrokenCompass**: Ah, the noble gathering of those either too foolish or too wise for their own good.

**QuixoticQuester**: Or both! The greatest quests are often born from the most paradoxical minds.

**BrokenCompass**: Then may your paradox be less oxy and more moron, and may my compass find a true north in this sea of uncertainty.

**QuixoticQuester**: And may both our quests at least make for good stories, if not good realities.

**BrokenCompass**: Cheers to that. Until our next chat?

**QuixoticQuester**: Until then. May your compass tick only briefly before it finds its course.

**BrokenCompass**: And may your quest be just quixotic enough to be worth it.

**QuixoticQuester**: Farewell, BrokenCompass.

**BrokenCompass**: Farewell, QuixoticQuester.
